The High Tatras SMS ticket can be used on all trains operated by ZSSK on tracks Štrba – Štrbské Pleso, Poprad-Tatry – Štrbské Pleso, Starý Smokovec – Tatranská Lomnica and Poprad-Tatry – Studený Potok – Tatranská Lomnica. More information on rail transport in High Tatras.

Easy guideline

1. Send a free SMS, with the letter according to what kind of ticket you need, to number 2255 (in High Tatras to number 2233).

2. In approximately 2 minutes you will receive an SMS with the ticket.

3. When boarding the train, you need to have a valid SMS ticket.

4. If using the nationwide SMS ticket, shortly before the end of its validity, you will receive a free information SMS about the possibility to purchase a new ticket.

Validity of the ticket

  • the SMS ticket can be used on trains of Os category (ordinary passenger train), it is not available on trains of higher categories,
  • it is possible to purchase more than one SMS ticket from the same mobile phone,
  • SMS ticket cannot be forwarded to other telephone number,
  • within the time of validity of the SMS ticket it is possible to travel without limitation of distance or number of journeys,
  • the 1 day SMS ticket in High Tatras is valid until 24:00 on the day of the purchase,
  • on track Poprad-Tatry – Studený Potok – Tatranská Lomnica both SMS tickets may be used.

Availability

  • the service is available with the following operators: Orange, Telekom, O2 and 4ka,
  • the service is not available with the foreign operators.

Reimbursements

  • SMS ticket cannot be returned for reason on the side of the passenger. However, the SMS ticket can be claimed in case it was not used and the fault is on the side of the carrier (at the ticket-desk, by regular post or electronic mail at the address of the OTZ Section of ZSSK (Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko, a. s., Úsek obchodu, Sekcia odúčtovania tržieb železníc, Oddelenie vnútroštátnej prepravy, Rožňavská 1, 832 72 Bratislava 3, ZSSKSeOTZ@slovakrail.sk),
  • please, send us the telephone number from which the purchase was realized, the date and time of the ticket purchase, the SMS ticket code, account number and relevant documents that prove the legitimacy of the claim.
