Integrated transport system in Bratislava region

The various modes of public transport in Bratislava and the surrounding region  are mutually interconnected in a complex model of the Integrated Transportation system in Bratislava region. The system integrates the tram, trolley bus and bus lines of the Dopravný podnik Bratislavaregional bus lines of the company Slovak Lines and all sub-urban train lines of the categories passanger train and regional express train of Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko.  


Passsengers on the trains of Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko have the choice: 

  • to use the tickets according to the actual price lists of ZSSK including the single tickets, discounted fares with the customer offers (e.g. KLASIK RAILPLUS), zero-fare transportation for selected groups of citizens or the prepaid network tickets. The prices and offers are flat-valid all over Slovakia. These travel documents are valid exclusively on the ZSSK trains.
  • to use the integrated tickets valid on the included ZSSK trains as well as on the lines of Bratislava public transport network and on the sub-urban buses of Slovak Lines.

  • S 20 Bratislava – Malacky – Sekule (all trains of category Os and REX)
    (in the track section Závod - Sekule as partially integrated line)
  • S 50 Bratislava – Pezinok – Cífer (all trains of category Os and REX)
    (in the track section Závod - Sekule as partially integrated line)
  • S 60 Bratislava – Senec - Reca (all trains of category Os and REX)
  • S 25 Zohor – Záhorská Ves (all trains of category Os)
  • S 8 Bratislava-Petržalka - Rusovce (from 10th December 2017, all trains of category Os as partially integrated line, if boarding in Rusovce station and travelling towards Bratislava-Petržalka, please validate your ticket by the engine driver)
  • T Zohor - Plavecké Podhradie (all trains of category Os as partially integrated line)

On the listed trains, our passengers can use both ticket types- ZSSK tickets and the IDS BK tickets.

Map of the valid area

The valid area for the Integrated transportation system is the whole territory of Bratislava self-governing region and some adjacent municipalities of the Trnava self-governing region.

Integrated tickets

The ticket price reflects the number of travelled zones and the journey time.

During your journey, you can change the integrated lines and operators as many times as you need, the journey is limited by the time indicated on your ticket.

IDS BK Tickets

ZSSK Tip: The integrated tickets can be purchased at the ZSSK sales points all over Slovakia. The prepaid ticket can be recorded on your contactless chip card of Dopravný podnik Bratislava and Slovak Lines.

Who may travel for free

  • children under 6 years of age
  • seniors over 70 years of age with SeniorPas card
  • holders of ŤZP and ŤZP-S cards, „diamond“ blood donors. Participants of anti-fascist and anti-communist  resistance movement and their family members with permanent residence in Bratislava region are entitled to free transport within the zones of Bratislava city (zones 100 and 101) based on the contactless chip card.   • the zero-fare transport for children, students and seniors is valid on ZSSK trains, not in local transport nor on regional bus lines.

What differencies to expect when using the integrated transportation on ZSSK trains

  • Transport of bicycles on the trains of Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko is available according to the pricelists and rules of ZSSK,
  • It is not possible to use the service electronic wallet when purchasing the ticket from ZSSK, neither to activate this service on contactless chip card issued by ZSSK.

Where to purchase IDS BK tickets

  • at all sales points of ZSSK all over the territory of Slovakia  (not only in Bratislava region),
  • if boarding the train where there is no sales point, approach our train personnel proactively and you can purchase your ticket onboard the train with no extra surcharge,
  • in the ticket vending machines  in our train stations and at the bus stops of local transport,
  • at the newspaper stands,
  • in the regional buses,
  • online (prepaid tickets).
