First Time in Slovakia?

First of all, welcome!  We prepared a small guide on how to profit from the possibilities we offer. If you are interested and want to know more, do not hesitate to contact us. And enjoy your journey by train.

Where to purchase tickets?

What should I do in case there is not any sales point opened at station ?

If there is not any possibility of purchasing a ticket at station, you can buy your ticket aboard the train without any surcharge. In such case, please look for our train personnel as soon as possible.

There are exceptions:

the Tatra Electric Railways, Cog Railway, the line Žilina – Rajec, and Rusovce - Bratislava-Petržalka line where the passengers are obliged to purchase a ticket before boarding a train and to validate it aboard the train. On the line Žilina - Rajec only the tickets for Integrated Transport of Žilina need to be validated. Travellers entitled for zero-fare transport on Tatra Electric Railways and Žilina - Rajec line do not need zero-fare tickets, only their customer cards. On the line Rusovce - Bratislava-Petržalka, if boarding in Rusovce station and travelling towards Bratislava-Petržalka, the single ZSSK and IDS BK tickets need to be validated by the engine driver,

What discounts are offered?

Children under 15 years of age, students, retired persons receiving social security income and seniors over 62 years of age may travel for free. A registration is necessary and before travelling, you need to purchase a zero-fare ticket (children up to 6 years of age are exception). Please refer here for detailed information. The zero-fare transport is not limited only to Slovak citizens.

What about discounts for people who are not entitled to zero-fare transport?

Here you find a list of domestic fares.
